About this Website
I started this site after seriously getting into my own personal disaster planning. Not long after starting, I noticed myself getting the bogged down and distracted at the details.
Now don't get me wrong details are an absolutely essential part of proper planning. Without focus though, the details become the devil sitting on your shoulder. That's when I remembered my military training.
It's all about the 7Ps.
Now about the name; justthe7ps.com, it's mainly a Post-it note to myself. The plan is to havethe resources, tips and help guides linked here on the website. If something has been useful to me during my planning process I will plug it without shame. If on the other hand if I find all it has done, is waste my time, I will not hesitate to say so.
A proper plan is a dynamic thing. Once it is “done” it should be reviewed and updated continually. Changes in our lives happen daily. Pulling out a two-year-old emergency evacuation check off list mere hours before the storm of the century is about to become your new next door neighbor, is a guarantee that you will forget something important. So you see this website is meant to be as much a tool for myself, as it is for anyone else.
